Magic Photo edits photographs. This policy explains what happens to your pictures and what data the app receives.
There is no account in the app. We do not ask for your name, phone number or email address. Most tools run on the phone itself, with no network. A photo leaves your device only when you choose a tool that uses artificial intelligence, and it is deleted as soon as the result is returned.
Processed on the device. Enhancement, face retouching, cropping, colour filters, simple background changes (remove, fill with colour, blur) and face detection are computed on the phone. Those pictures are never sent anywhere and work in airplane mode.
Processed on the server. Art styles and portraits, restoration of old photographs, outfit try-on, hairstyle, beard, makeup and template backgrounds, and removal of unwanted objects are produced by a neural model. For those, a copy of the photo is sent to our server and on to the model provider. The copy is reduced: no more than 1536 pixels on the long side, and for object removal only the area around the spot you painted is sent, not the whole frame.
Two numbers travel with it: how many faces are in the frame and what share of the area they occupy. They are used by the content check and cannot identify anyone.
Deletion. The copy on the server is deleted as soon as the result is handed back to the app. If you closed the app and never collected the result, the copy is deleted automatically within 24 hours at the latest.
Training. We do not use your photographs to train models and do not pass them to third parties for any purpose other than carrying out the request you started yourself.
On first launch the app generates a random string and keeps it on the phone. It serves exactly one purpose: counting the free edits and the edits earned by watching an ad. It is not an account, not an advertising identifier and not linked to a person. Uninstalling the app removes it from the phone.
The edit count is also kept on our server: next to that random string we store three numbers — how many free edits remain, how many were earned by watching ads, and how many have been used. Without this the count would reset every time the server restarts. The server keeps nothing else about your device or about you, and your photographs are not part of this record. The app uses Google Firebase Analytics to understand which features are used and which are not. The events sent are of the kind "tool opened", "rewarded video watched" or "closed", "edit succeeded" with the number of seconds waited, "edit failed" with a reason code, "result saved", "caption removed" — together with technical details about the device: model, operating system version, language, country and a service identifier of the app installation.
The tool name comes from our own list: "styles", "eraser", "hairstyle" and so on. Your photographs, their file names, the masks you paint and the requests sent to the neural model are not part of the statistics. The installation identifier is not linked to your Google account.

The app uses Google Firebase Crashlytics. If the app crashes or misbehaves, it sends a technical report: the place in the code where it failed, the device model, the operating system version, the app version and the name of the tool that was open last. Your photographs are not part of the report — neither names nor content — and the report is not linked to your Google account.
These reports are used only to find and fix bugs.
Ads are served through Google AdMob. The app requests
non-personalised ads. AdMob may still use the device advertising identifier, and that processing is covered by Google's policy: https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites
There is no subscription, no in-app purchase and no "remove ads" button.
The last twenty edits are kept in the app's storage so you can come back to them. They are never uploaded and are removed together with the app.
Images created by the neural tools carry a machine-readable mark in the file metadata saying so. This follows Article 50 of the EU Artificial Intelligence Act.
A visible "Magic Photo" caption is also placed on the saved image. It can be removed by watching an advertisement; no payment is required.
The app asks for access to photos so you can pick a picture, and for internet access for the AI tools and for advertising. It does not request the camera, contacts, microphone or location.
The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their data.
If you write to us from the app settings, we receive the text of your message and, if you provide one, a contact for the reply. This is the only way the app can receive personal data from you, and you fill it in yourself.
Your photographs and your edit history sit on your phone only and are deleted together with the app. One record remains on our server: the edit count tied to the random device string, with no name, no email and no pictures.
